eBay Suspension (FIP NOTICE: eBay Registration Suspension…)
November 4, 2007 9:22 pm ComputingI signed up to eBay, brought a few things but never sold anything, so I was selling my first thing. I took the photos, selected a good skin, got Fiona to wrote a long description (because I can never think of a good item description), clicked Sell… Then WHAM!
I received this email from eBay:

What?!
Why was this? I went back to my eBay account, logged in and had notices on the top of My eBay saying my account has been suspended, the only thing I could do on My eBay was check my messages, and I had two both saying my account had been suspended! I searched for the item I just put up, and couldn’t find it! I searched for the item number and it came up but said “no longer a registered user”
I could not think of anything at all that I’ve done to deserve this? I signed up for a Sellers Account, I agreed to all the terms, I agreed for the Sellers fee to be paid, put in my correct bank details.
Three days later, nothing… No reply, still couldn’t think of why they did this to me?! I looked for a help phone number for eBay, but after a bit of research I found out there is no contact phone number for eBay, but there is a Live Help which is a Live Chat here’s the link: https://cschatlb-na.corp.ebay.com/chat.asp?profile=15 . So I got in the virtual queue to talk to an eBay representative. Got through and they sent me some links… The same links as the email gives you! Useless!
The next day I got an email saying my account was suspended because they wanted me to prove who I was. I have to send photocopies of my passport or driving licence, a utility bill with my name on or a bank statement, to an eBay office in
The same day I received an email saying thank you and your account has been reinstated. I checked My eBay and the messages where still on the top saying my account had been suspended, but I could check everything and do everything on My eBay.
So I went back to the Live Help (https://cschatlb-na.corp.ebay.com/chat.asp?profile=15) for eBay and spoke to someone different and explained the annoying problem, he told me to wait there, I did… He came back and said ok, I’ve removed that for you now. I also asked if my item can go back up for sale, but he couldn’t. Now I have to get Fiona to write that long description again!

Hi Dave,
I had exactly the same thing but you can really count yourself lucky, they un-suspended my account and when it was still showing suspended I did exactly the same as you and went back to ebay and then they told me they had mad a mistake and my account is still suspended and I still don’t know to this day why ?
ebay made up our income to cover the bills from just selling bit’s n bob’s I was gutted and really stressed about it, I was sending email and making telephone calls for 2 months, i just gave up in the end
A friend of mine passed me some details of a guy who says he can get you back on, I was disappointing coz he can only get you on with a new account, I had no choice to open up a new account and loose my feedback of 67 100% Pos.
I read lots of stuff using fake details to get back on etc.. but I did not have to do that with this guy, he had been through exactly the same thing as a lot of us and had found a good loop hole to get back on without being silly.
I don’t recommend you open up a new ebay I.D right away, keep fighting until you feel like you are not getting anywhere and then do this as the last straw. You can read more at his blog http://www.accountsuspension.co.uk
I feel they can do what the hell they want with innocent people like us and we have no means to prove our integrity and if we do it’s kangaroo court. There is hope to get back on it depends how much you need ebay.
Good luck to all
Louise.

I’m in exactly the same situation and close to losing the roof over my head. Its the last thing we need in this economic climate.
Has anyone made any progress? I’ve faxed and emailed and emailed and fax and my account is STILL suspended– even after receiving an email telling me my account has been reinstated!!?!??!
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Cheers,
Tu

There is a forum I found on the internet that is free, and helps with Ebay, PayPal, business and the law. Just post any question, the experts will answer it if it has not already been answered!
The forum has a lot of expert advice on it. http://www.modeeworld.com/forums I found advice there about how to avoid EBAY suspensions, get past PayPal limitations, also lots of detailed help on creating your own business, getting past trademark violations, VERO and lots more. Plus general advice on how best to sell on EBAY, what sells the best, how to get the best price for your product, really everything related to EBAY and internet business.
Also advice about how EBAY really works and how PayPal really works. The inside scoop.
Beautiful forum. I was made a moderator of the forum and I love it!

I gather I have just joined the ever growing list of decent folks that have genuine problems with ebay’s lack of common sense & good management decision making…..up to 2008 I had a 100% 3yrs feedback record of buying truck parts from the USA(I’m UK based)…I made one attempt to sell & made a mistake confusing ‘number of items for auction’ (was selling a number of parts together as ‘one’ job lot)..& I ended up having people bidding a anumber of items instead of just the one I’d thought I’d put up….got abusive e/mails/bad feedback even though I explained & apologised to those ‘unsuccessful bidders’ about my mistake…ebay jumped on me ‘like a ton of bricks’ & suspended my account…..now,2 years on !! despite requesting re-instatement & constantly repeating the reason for my problem that ‘one time’ my account still remains suspended…and ebay will only send me ‘formal contact’ never anything personal, nor reasons for this continuing suspension…….’any suggestions form the floor ?’…..cheers.
